Eco village calls for shareholders
Posted: 03/10/2007
Lammas Low Impact Initiatives Ltd have applied for planning permission to build an eco-village in Pembrokeshire. Now the group are appealing for financial backers to get involved by buying shares in the company. Lammas say 'for the first time ever a planning policy exists to allow people to build low impact houses in the countryside and live off the land in a sustainable way, but so far the policy only exists in Pembrokeshire'.
'But Lammas isn't just about our eco-village! Lammas aims to help people create Low Impact Initiatives wherever they are throughout the UK. We want to show how the Pembrokeshire policy can be used and why every county should be making this possible'.
That's why we've formed ourselves into an Industrial and Provident
Society (co-operative), found some land and put in a planning application. But when we get Planning Permission we will need to raise £500,000. This will mean that we will be able to set up this project and many more like it, giving everyone who wants to a chance to live in a Low Impact way'.
The shares can be bought online, are £50 each, they are non-profit-making, which means there will be no dividends, they are non-transferable, so cannot be sold to another person, but they are withdrawable(this means that it is possible for Lammas to buy the shares back, at their purchase price, should you wish to sell them).
Everyone buying a share will become a member of Lammas Low-Impact Initiatives Ltd. Becoming a member enables you to have a voice within the organisation.
Visit www.lammas.org.uk to find out to find
out more about the project and become a part of it by buying a share
online .
