EVENT - Airtightness Training Day
Posted: 04/04/2005
Chiltern Dynamics has launched a new training event, Airtightness and Continuity of Insulation Explained, which will include demonstrations of thermographic inspections and airtightness testing. The event will take place on Tuesday 24th May 2005 at Chiltern Dynamics’ High Wycombe headquarters. Commercial buildings are consuming increasing amounts of energy. According to DEFRA, building energy use continues to rise by just under 4% a year and has long since overtaken transport as the major contributor of greenhouse gasses. To combat CO2 emissions, Part L of the Building Regulations requires all buildings to demonstrate minimal air leakage and continuity of insulation.
Airtightness testing is the only accepted method to measure air leakage for buildings with a gross floor area of more than 1,000m2, while thermographic inspection is the most quantifiable means of demonstrating continuity of insulation. The training day will cover test methodology (CIBSE TM23/BR 176), regulatory requirements, examples of best practice and the influence of building design detail and material specification on air leakage and insulation.
The event is aimed at
Building Contractors
Specifiers
Contract/Site Managers
Surveyors
Building Control/Approved Inspectors
Buyers/Estimators.
The cost is £145 + VAT (TRADA Members £120 +VAT). For more information or to book please contact Mark Cooper on 01494 569600 or email mcooper@trada.co.uk.
