Renewable Energy for Advisors - Newcastle

A one day training course providing an introduction to renewable energy technologies for houses and community buildings - appropriate for anyone providing advice to homeowners and community groups about their renewable energy options. It will also be useful for organisations and individuals aspiring to move
into this field.
Technologies covered: wood heating, ground source heat pumps, solar water heating, wind turbines, solar electric.
Course objectives are to enable participants to provide basic guidance to homeowners and community groups on the following: which renewable energy technologies are likely to be the most appropriate for different applications; advantages and disadvantages of the different renewable energy options; how systems work and some of the main design options; energy generation and system sizing; typical capital and running costs; key factors to be considered when assessing feasibility; applying for grants, suppliers and planning.
£250 plus VAT per person (includes course notes, information pack, lunch and refreshments)
£10 discount is available for participants travelling by 'sustainable' transport.
